Mr. Andsnes played Beethoven's Piano Concerto No.5 (Emperor) with the London Philharmonic Orchestra being conducted by Vladimir Jurowski on the 26th of April 2014 at the Royal Festival Hall.

His recording of Rachmanimov's Piano Concertos Nos 3 and 4 with the London Symphony Orchestra and Antonio Pappano was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2011.

He won the 'Hindemith Prize Frankfurt' in 1987.

Leif Ove Andsnes was born in Karmøy, Norway in 1970 and studied at the Bergen Music Conservatory.

Mr. Andsnes made his BBC Proms debut on the 12th of August 1992 in a performance of Britten's Piano Concerto with the BBC Philharmonic conducted by Edward Downes.
