Mr. Capuçon performed Beethoven's Concerto for violin, cello and piano, Triple Concerto with violinist Leonidas Kavakos, pianist Kirill Gerstein and the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig under the baton of Herbert Blomstedt on the 22nd of October 2017 at the Barbican Hall.
Gautier Capuçon, born in Chambéry in 1981, founded and is leader of the Classe d'Excellence de Violoncelle at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. He uses a 1701 Matteo Goffriller cello and was a pupil of Heinrich Schiff at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
Mr Capuçon made his BBC Prom debut on the 18th of July 2011 playing Beethoven's Triple Concerto together with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Frank Braley on the piano and his brother Renaud on the violin.
